HTC T8788 is a landscape slider that tucks away a large speaker?
When it comes down to handset handset designs, there is no arguing the kind of talent behind HTC since their devices truly radiate a sense of craftsmanship that continues to deliver with each one they mold. Up until this point, the hardware designs for most of the Windows Phone 7 devices that have been leaked seem to be decent, but for the most part, a good majority of them are just simple looking slate devices with that glossy plastic look. Enter Taiwan based manufacturer HTC, the maker of some fantastic last generation Windows Mobile smartphones such as the HTC Touch Pro2, HD2, and Snap.

Now we're finally getting a sneak peek to their upcoming Windows Phone 7 device, currently going by the name T8788, which utilizes the landscape-slider form factor that packs an unexpected surprise. One would imagine that it would be yet another stunning looking and usable QWERTY keyboard, such as the one found on the Touch Pro2. However, it looks like it is simply just a large sized sliding speaker – which is complimented with an included kickstand. With those two items, you'd have to think that this one is aiming to be more of a media-centric device as opposed to a business oriented one. Regardless, the handset still exudes that typical industrial design we know that HTC is capable of crafting.
