Survey finds over 40% of Americans use their phone in the bathroom
Everyone has probably had a friend with a story about how they dropped their phone in a toilet.
You probably assume they dropped it and how they did not have any insurance on it. Now they're telling you their story about how it all transpired. But a survey that was conducted by iGR revealed that over 42 percent of U.S. consumers use their phone to make calls while in restrooms. It does not just stop at making phone calls, sending text messages was also popular with 42 percent of people doing it. Some might think of it being rude if you take out your phone during a meal in a restaurant. But 70 percent surveyed said they made calls in a restaurant while eating and 73 percent sent text messages. This may be considered bad manners if you even take out your phone while having dinner, but these numbers reveal that might not be the case. Over 1,000 mobile handset users were surveyed in the U.S. at the end of April 2009.
